In 1982, Ron Lane graduated with degrees in Forest Management and Botany from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. He began his career in agriculture in 1983, farming hydroponic greenhouse vegetables for Louisiana Pacific Corporation, doing business as Gourmet Gardens Produce. The company distributed product throughout the Western United States and was recognized by Chefs of America as one of America’s best producers. In 1992 he moved on, serving as a Superintendent of Agriculture for the Environmental Horticulture and Plant Sciences Departments at UC Davis, before retiring in 2018. Along this journey he founded the California Greenhouse Vegetable Growers Association and served as Vice President of the American Greenhouse Vegetable Growers Association, he taught UC Extension Courses, won multiple campus wide awards, and was inducted into the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture. A commitment to excellence has been the modus operandi in actions, and not just words, throughout his career. As CEO of Circadian Crop Sciences, LLC, he is committed to providing growers with safe, sustainable, effective and affordable products to grow their crops and businesses.
With All Phase, Circadian Crop Sciences, LLC has bridged the gap between a world trusted food preservative, potassium sorbate, and an agricultural pesticide. Yes, the active ingredient in All Phase is so safe, it is added to foods to protect them from spoilage. And it’s based on natural chemistries. In 2019 it performed better than conventional pesticides, such as Quintec and Flint, for controlling powdery mildew on Chardonnay grapes in a trial conducted by UC Davis. We see it as a new and safe chemistry for conventional farming with broad-spectrum activity against bacteria and fungi.
Circadian Sunrise is our signature brand. This OMRI Listed pesticide not only controls fungal diseases, it is super effective in controlling spider mites and russet mites. It kills most soft bodied insects. And what makes this product truly revolutionary is the natural biostimulant present in its waxes. While other essential oil-based products control a wide range of pests, usually at a detriment to plant growth, only Circadian Sunrise promotes better growth. Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is using it on their organic hops. Charlottes’ Web is including it in a hemp trial to quantify its biostimulant effect. Northwest Cannabis Solutions is doing the same with indoor cannabis. It is quite possible that with this product we can extend the range for economically growing certain crops, such as hops and Cabernet Grapes in California’s Central Valley. It is also quite possible that we can help crops adapt to global warming. It is going to take research to prove, but there is reason to believe in the possibilities.
Let’s really make American farming great, with sustainable farming practices that protect our water and land for generations to come.
