Unlock the potential of your vineyard with our revolutionary regenerative pesticides, All Phase, Long Shadow and Circadian Sunrise, from Circadian Crop Sciences! Recently put to the test in a captivating trial at a vineyard nestled between Vacaville and Winters, California, our pesticides demonstrated their prowess on Cabernet Sauvignon grapevines.
The Experiment: A Symphony of Varieties
A meticulously divided vineyard into five treatments – 1. All Phase (10 gm/gal), 2. Circadian Sunrise (3 oz/gal), 3. Long Shadow (1 oz/gal), 4. Prolifix (2 oz/gal), and 5. Non-treated Control. These treatments were administered on July 13, July 26, and August 9, targeting bunch saturation and a sweeping canopy spray. The harvest on September 4th marked the culmination of this groundbreaking experiment.
The Fermentation Dance: Precision and Finesse
The journey continued with a seamless transition to fermentation, beginning on September 6th. With ICV-D254 yeast, GO-FERM, and Fermaid K, our treatments danced through the fermentation process, with regular punch-downs and meticulous care. Malic acid fermentation was initiated with Viniflora oenos and ACTI ML, ensuring a harmonious transition towards excellence.
A Symphony of Flavors: Bottling and Aging
As September unfolded, meticulous adjustments were made, measured with Vinmetrica SC-300 Kits and a keen eye for detail. On September 25th, the wines were carefully transferred to barrels for aging. The result? An orchestra of flavors waiting to mature and captivate the senses.
Preliminary Conclusions: Nurturing Excellence
Despite being subjected to high application rates and triple-digit temperatures, the wines exhibited resilience. No off-putting odors or flavors were detected, and subtle differences in color, taste, and smell were found. Cinnamon notes in Long Shadow hinted at its presence, while antioxidants and triacontanol in Circadian Sunrise and Prolifix may have enhanced Brix and nose quality.
The Journey Continues: Seeking Expert Opinions
As we eagerly anticipate the wines’ maturation, we recognize that evaluating these young wines is an art. Professionals with seasoned noses will guide us. Over the next months, we will be distributing samples to winemakers, seeking their insights to compile a comprehensive understanding of the impact of our treatments on wine quality.
